Two letters required from two recognized national non-profit organizations
MAS DC Community Policies
- Organizers accept full responsibility for ensuring all activities align with MAS DC's published vision, mission, and community goals.
- MAS DC is a multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-lingual, non-sectarian community committed to full and equal participation. All participants must respect our rules, regulations, and code of conduct.
- MAS DC is committed to civic engagement with communities of other faiths and the broader American society.
- MAS DC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All funds raised through this application must be used exclusively for the stated legal purpose.
- Priority is given to organizations with an established history of partnership with MAS DC. New organizations will be evaluated based on alignment with our mission, values, and community impact.
Application Requirements
- This form must be submitted at least three (3) months before the requested event date.
- Proof of non-profit incorporation status must be attached.
- A current IRS Form 990 or audited financial statement for the prior year must be attached.
- Two letters of recommendation from two nationally recognized non-profit organizations must be attached.
Khutbah Fundraising
- Permitted once annually per organization, after the third Friday Prayer only.
- All donations collected must be deposited directly into the MAS DC account.
- MAS DC will retain $1,500 or 20% of total donations — whichever is greater — and issue a check to your organization within two weeks.
Banquet Reservation
- A 50% deposit is due upon confirmation of your reservation.
- Cancellations made more than one week after reservation will incur a 10% deduction from the deposit.
Violation of any of the above guidelines will result in immediate termination of approval, at the sole discretion of the MAS DC Executive Committee.
